Description: The Coordinator of the AGPCNP Track is appointed by the Dean of the Graduate School of Nursing. The AGPCNP Coordinator provides leadership for the curriculum, faculty, and students for the AGPCNP Track. A major responsibility is to oversee the education of students in the track. The AGPCNP Coordinator directly reports to the Director of the Nurse Practitioner Programs.

Responsibilities/Functions: Administrative: Provides leadership for the implementation and evaluation of the ACPCNP Track. Responsible for developing the syllabi, supportive materials, and examinations for the AGPCNP population-based courses. Collaborates with the both the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) Program Director and the Associate Dean of Advanced Practice Programs to ensure the transition of students throughout the DNP curriculum. Works with the Senior Nursing Clinical Partnership Coordinator and clinical instructors on clinical placements for all students in their clinical year. Refers AGPCNP students to academic support services as indicated. Serves on GSN and UMMS committees as appointed by the Dean.

Curriculum: Guides the curriculum of the AGPCNP Track to meet the requirements of the Board of Registration in Nursing, National Organization of Nurse Practitioner Faculties Nurse Practitioner Core and AGPCNP Competencies, American Association of Colleges of Nursing and The Essentials of Masters and DNP Education for Advanced Practice Nursing. Ensures that the curriculum evaluation plan is implemented. Oversees and liaison with clinical sites utilized by the population courses. Participates in the education of students by teaching in population focused courses.

Faculty: Supports and assists clinical faculty in the development of clinical and classroom teaching skills, curriculum materials, and evaluation of student performance. Facilitates faculty instruction of students in the didactic/clinical courses.

Students: Serves as a role model of professional nursing leadership for students in the track. Participates in the orientation of AGPCNP students to the GSN and track. Monitors academic and clinical progress of AGPCNP students. Collaborates with the Assistant Dean of Student Affairs & Enrollment Management related to the progression of students and attainment of graduation requirements.

Recruitment: Collaborates with the Admissions Coordinator in the recruitment of qualified students for the AGPCNP Track. Reviews student applications and interviews candidates for admission to the AGPCNP Track. Makes recommendations regarding candidates to the GSN Director of Admissions and the Academic Standards and Admissions Committee. Participates in the orientation of students to the track. Clarifies GSN policies through communication with students.

Evaluation: Monitors the track to ensure that the GSN evaluation plan is implemented. Reviews evaluation data with faculty teaching in the AGPCNP Track and with the Director of Nurse Practitioner programs. Recommends changes and improvements to the track based on evaluation data

This 1.0 FTE, benefited position. Required Current certification as an Adult, or Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner. Candidates with a doctoral degree in nursing or related field, prior teaching experience, an active program of practice and/or scholarship are preferred. Salary and rank are commensurate with previous experience. The position will remain open until filled.
