The Department of Computer Science at Memorial University invites applications for three tenure-track faculty positions at the rank of Assistant Professor, starting September 1st, 2021. A PhD in Computer Science or related field is required at the time of appointment. Duties include teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels, research, and normal administrative responsibilities. Salary will be determined according to qualifications and experience, as stipulated by the Collective Agreement. The positions are subject to budgetary approval. 

 The Department is looking for individuals with expertise in these areas:
• Systems (including candidates doing research in areas such as computer architecture, operating systems, and computer hardware) 
• Theoretical computer science (including candidates doing research in areas such as complexity theory, data structures, algorithms, automata, formal languages, and semantics).

Exceptional candidates in other areas of Computer Science will also be considered. Applicants are expected to possess a strong research record with outstanding promise for future research, and demonstrate excellent undergraduate and graduate teaching capabilities. A successful candidate is expected to 1) conduct high impact research, producing quality publications and building a well-funded research program; and 2) teach in the area(s) of their expertise, as well as fundamentals of Computer Science.
