The Center for High Energy Physics (CHEP) at the Peking University (PKU) invites applications for two postdoc positions working on a brand new dark matter direct detection project, A Liquid hElium Time projection cHembEr In dArk matter (ALETHEIA).
The PKU is the top university in China locating in the capital city, Beijing. The CHEP was founded in 2006 by Nobel physics laureate Prof. Tsung-Dao. Lee, who also is the chief director of the CHEP. The CHEP is one of the institutes of the school of physics at the PKU.
Candidates are expected to have a Ph.D. degree in particle physics, astroparticle physics, nuclear physics, or related fields with an excellent academic record. As a candidate, you should have a solid background in at least one of the following skills: data analysis with C++/ROOT or Python, detector calibration and R&D, Geant4 simulation, liquid helium, low-temperature physics, electronics, and DAQ.
There is no teaching assigned for the positions.
The salary package depends on the quality of the candidates. The complete package would be competitive even at the international level. You are welcome to inquire for details. The initial term for the position is three years and renewable based on mutual satisfaction.
