Position Overview: Merrimack College's School of Education & Social Policy invites applications for an Assistant Professor of Practice position, non- tenure track, in the Higher Education Department to begin in the Fall of 2021. The Higher Education Department, currently in its tenth year, graduates 40 Master’s of Higher Education Students each year. The position will be within the Department, teaching courses in the Master’s program. Depending on school needs, the candidate may also teach in the undergraduate program in Human Development and Human Services as well. The faculty member hired in this position will have primary teaching and advising responsibilities for graduate higher education courses, teaching 16 credits per semester (4/4 teaching load). This position is contingent on final budgetary approval.

Qualifications: The successful candidate will possess a doctorate (or be ABD) in Higher Education or a closely related field, and should have higher education teaching experience. The ideal candidate will have a background in Higher Education/Student Affairs. Doctoral candidates, who will complete their degree by 2022, will be considered. The successful candidate will bring teaching expertise and interest in areas including student affairs leadership and professional practice, counseling/advising of students, diversity, equity, and inclusion in higher education, and gender issues in higher education.
