Position Summary: Conduct and coordinate extension and applied research activities as part of the New York Soil Health Initiative (https://blogs.cornell.edu/soilhealthinitiative). This program focuses on soil health at state, national and international levels. It is currently supported by multiple funding programs, including New York State, with possible other funding sources in the future. Primary responsibilities involve
working in concert
with supervisor and other team members to: Anticipated Division of Time: Extension 60% Research 40%
Qualifications: MS degree in soil science or agronomy, with strong background and experience related to soil health assessment and management, and 2 or more years of related work experience. In-depth knowledge of soil health testing procedures and soil health management practices. Strong skills in project management, data analytics, content presentation to large audiences, reporting, and writing of publications.
Preferred: PhD degree and experience in extension education; knowledge of, and experience with professionals.
Terms of Appointment: This Extension Associate appointment is 1 year with expectation for continuation.
Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
