The Department of Computational and Applied Mathematics (CAAM) at Rice University in Houston, Texas, seeks outstanding candidates for two positions aligned with its expansion in operations research. We envision one position related to the general area of continuous optimization with possible applications in data science or machine learning. We envision the other position to be in the broad area of operations research, with possible applications such as societal good, energy, healthcare, and others. We expect to hire both positions at the rank of tenure-track assistant professor; however, we will consider exceptional candidates at the rank of associate professor.
Qualifications
Successful candidates will have exceptional research potential along with a strong commitment to teaching, advising, and mentoring undergraduate and graduate students from diverse backgrounds. The candidates must have a PhD by the start date. Teaching experience at the university level will be viewed as an advantage.
