Position Description: |
Lecturer/Senior Lecturer (Educator Track) in Corporate Communications, Media Writing and Public Relations We seek applicants with expertise in one or more of the following areas: corporate communication, public relations, digital marketing, and media writing. Candidates will have demonstrated knowledge of current and emerging trends in strategic communication; demonstrated current industry knowledge of corporate communication as well as experience in crafting media statements or holding a writing position in a reputable media organisation. Qualifications: Successful candidates must have a PhD in Communication or a closely related discipline by date of appointment; evidence of excellent teaching; approximately 3 years of teaching experience in higher education settings; and experience teaching students from diverse backgrounds including international students as well as adult and professional learners in both online and face-to-face classrooms. Fresh PhD graduates can also apply. Responsibilities: Successful candidates are expected to teach 220-280 hours per academic year. Successful candidates will be expected to teach in the Communications and New Media undergraduate programme and the new Master of Communication graduate coursework programme. Other duties include supervision of honours students and graduate students, and administrative service. The anticipated start date is 1 July 2022 prior to the beginning of the semester in August 2022. Remuneration is competitive and includes medical, housing, relocation and other benefits. Significant research start-up funding is available if appointed on the tenure track.
