The Center for Quantum Mathematics and Physics (QMAP) at UC Davis seeks exceptional candidates for postdoctoral positions in theoretical high-energy physics.
QMAP bridges the Physics and Mathematics departments. It is devoted to the study of fundamental physics, broadly in the areas of quantum field theory, quantum information, string theory, and gravity, as well the study of mathematical structures that govern these areas.
We would like to solicit applications from candidates interested in holography and string theory and in particular those interested in applications of quantum information in quantum gravity. We are part of the new multi-institute consortium "Complex Quantum Systems and The Quantum Universe" funded by DOE under the HEP-QIS QuantISED program, which aims to address questions in the latter area, and expect the postdoc to be part of this broad endeavor.
Postdoctoral positions would begin in Fall 2022 and last two years, with the possibility of renewal for a third year given satisfactory performance. Postdocs will direct the course of their own research.
Applicants should send their CV, publication list, statement of research interests, and at least three letters of recommendation to Academic Jobs Online.
Attention: The deadline for applications is Dec. 10, 2021.
