Lecturer/Senior Lecturer

Grade 8: £42,149 - £50,296 per annum. Potential to progress to £56,587 per annum through sustained exceptional contribution.

There are four exciting positions for Lecturer/ Senior Lecturer in the Department of Automatic Control and Systems Engineering at the University of Sheffield.

We are looking for innovative and visionary researchers in the broad areas of Systems and Control, Artificial Intelligence and Autonomy and Complex Systems who have a demonstrable track record and can develop, lead and sustain research of international standard.

You will hold a PhD in a relevant subject area or have equivalent experience. You will also have experience of leading and managing independent research and the ability to develop cross-disciplinary collaborations. In addition to establishing and maintaining a world-class research profile through high-quality research publications, research grant income and impact generation, the postholder will be expected to make a significant contribution to the department’s undergraduate and postgraduate taught programmes and to the supervision of PhD students.

The Department is the only university department in the UK and one of the best in the world dedicated to automation and systems engineering. It was also ranked 1st in the UK for research output in the Research Excellence Framework 2014.
