The Wheelock College of Education & Human Development at Boston University invites applications for a full-time Lecturer in Special Education within our Teaching & Learning department. BU Wheelock is seeking a faculty member to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Special Education; provide field-based supervision of students in their clinical practicum placements; and serve as a coordinator for placement of students in area schools for pre-practicum and practicum experiences, and advise undergraduate and graduate level students; Additional service to the program, college, and university, such as serving on committees, is expected.

Required Qualifications:

·       Doctorate in Special Education or related field.

·       Minimum three years relevant teaching experience in K-12.

·       Demonstrated excellence in teaching and advising at the university level.

·       Expertise in instruction of students with disabilities, and knowledge of Special Education policies and evidence-based practices.

Preferred Qualifications:

·       Experience supervising teaching candidates in the field.

The Lecturer position begins July 1, 2022, on a three-year contract, with potential for renewal and promotion to senior lecturer. Applicants from diverse backgrounds are strongly encouraged to apply.
