| Assistant Professor of Environmental Humanities (JOB#10220)
Arizona State University�s School of Historical, Philosophical, and Religious Studies (SHPRS) seeks an Assistant Professor (tenure-track) in environmental humanities with an emphasis in natural resources and sustainability. Appointment begins August 2013. The successful candidate will be expected to teach a 2/2/ course load, supervise undergraduate and graduate students, engage in research, and participate in standard university service. The successful candidate will also be expected to participate in interdisciplinary efforts within SHPRS, contribute to the School�s growing relationship with ASU�S Global Institute of Sustainability, and advance Public Humanities initiatives. Areas of focus include but are not limited to ethics or resource management, indigenous sacred practices and land, and humanities perspectives on sustainability, food systems, energy, environmental justice, and social movements.
Required qualifications include: a Ph.D. at time of appointment; demonstrated record of interdisciplinary research in humanities and sustainability; and teaching experience. Desired qualifications include: training in religious studies, philosophy, or history; evidence of successful grant-writing to support research or public programs; scholarly publications in environmental humanities; and a record of public engagement. |
