The goal of the Reitman Lab (https://radonc.duke.edu/research/reitman-lab ) is to make discoveries that guide the design of improved treatment strategies for children and adults with brain tumors. brain tumors. We leverage molecular biology techniques, genetically engineered mouse models and cancer genomic approaches to carry out our work. The Reitman Lab is based in the Department of Radiation Oncology and the team works closely with the faculty and staff in the Preston Robert Tisch Brain Tumor Center at Duke, the Department of Neurosurgery and the Duke Cancer Institute. We are interested in several research themes, including: (1) using primary genetically engineered mouse models of pediatric and adult brain tumors to study mechanisms of tumorigenesis, mechanisms of treatment resistance, and candidate therapeutic strategies (2) identifying new therapeutic dependencies associated with frequent cancer mutations (3) identifying methods to increase the efficacy and decrease toxicity of radiation therapy for brain tumor patients (4) using single cell genomic techniques to understand tumor heterogeneity, to define brain tumor lineage of origin, and to improve diagnosis and treatment for brain tumor patients

This specific posting is for a postdoctoral fellow who will work to analyze single cell transcriptomic data and related data that have been collected in the lab. A major goal will be to generate, submit, and gain acceptance for a scientific manuscript on the project in collaboration with the PI. The fellow will also participate in more general lab functions and projects to help the overall goals of the research program. The work can primarily be done remotely, by completing computational work on the project and virtual meetings to provide updates to the PI and collaborators.
