Job Title: Associate in Research Length of Commitment: 3 months Language Requirement: None

Occupational Summary: The Associate in Research (“RA”) will work with Professor Christopher Timmins on applied micro-economic research directed at informing public policy regarding environmental justice. The RA’s primary duties include data cleaning and management, as well as econometric analysis. They will be expected to assist with drafting initial results, reports for stakeholders, and research papers.

Work Performed: Data cleaning and management (40% effort) Statistical and Econometric analysis (40% effort) Research support, preparation of manuscripts and related documents (20% effort)

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE Qualifying candidates will be graduates of well-regarded master’s programs in economics and related fields, as well as: • Proficiency in programming with STATA or R • Strong quantitative and statistical skills • Significant coursework and experience in economics, statistics, and computer programming. • Excellent organizational, communication, and writing skills • Prior research experience preferred • Strong interest in policy and research related to environmental justice • Flexible, self-motivating, able to manage multiple tasks efficiently, and a team player. • Proven ability to handle several different projects/tasks at one time, successfully complete tasks assigned, and meet deadlines. A willingness to work hard, be self-motivated and learn will be essential for doing well in this position.
