General Information

Chapman University School of Pharmacy (CUSP), the first ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy in Orange County, California, seeks excellent candidates to join its faculty in the Department of Biomedical & Pharmaceutical Sciences. This full-time, calendar-year, non-tenure-track position, beginning in August, is primarily focused on teaching. We are interested in candidates with expertise and experience in teaching in various areas of pharmaceutical sciences, specifically in pharmaceutics/drug delivery and pharmacology.

CUSP offers PharmD and MS/PhD in Pharmaceutical Economics and Policy and Pharmaceutical Sciences programs that address the challenges of tomorrow in the field of pharmacy and pharmaceutical health outcomes and health care policy and drug discovery and development. Located on the Chapman University Rinker Health Science Campus in the beautiful Orange County, California, the School is rapidly growing in all areas of basic and translational research, innovative teaching, and practice, with excellent state-of-the-art facilities. The newly-remodeled facilities consist of modern classrooms and state-of-the-art research laboratories, core facilities, and equipment. Additionally, the Health Science Campus is strategically located near a number of biopharmaceutical, diagnostics, and medical devices companies. Qualifications

Required: • PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences or related disciplines from an accredited institution. • Teaching experience in pharmaceutical or biomedical sciences • Demonstrated ability for teaching excellence. • Records of scholarship/research (e.g., peer-reviewed publications and research grants), commensurate with the desired rank. • Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred: • Teaching experience in a US school/college of pharmacy • Teaching experience in pharmaceutics/drug delivery and pharmacology courses • Experience in curriculum development and assessment • Evidence of successful mentorship of undergraduate, professional, or graduate students • Peer-reviewed records of scholarship of teaching

Responsibilities

• Teach in an accelerated, year-long PharmD program and in MS/PhD graduate programs. • Participate in the curriculum development and assessment process. • Mentor professional and undergraduate students. • Engage in scholarship activities commensurate with the rank. • Participate in the service activities of the Department, School, and University
