Position Description:    

The Department of Romance Studies at Duke University is seeking a qualified instructor in Italian for a one-year non-renewable appointment. Qualifications requested for candidates: ABD or PhD in second language acquisition, applied linguistics, language pedagogy, or related areas.

This is a full-time position (5 courses) with competitive salary and benefits.

We seek candidates with a demonstrated excellence in teaching and curriculum design, a proven ability to work effectively in teams, and a strong interest in working with undergraduate students from diverse backgrounds. Native or near-native fluency in Italian and English is required.

Please submit a CV, cover letter, 3 letters of recommendation, and teaching portfolio (statement of teaching philosophy, teaching evaluations, sample syllabi from courses at two different levels, and a teaching video).
