Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering: Chair & Professor to be the academic and administrative leader of the department. The department chair will serve as a member of the Leadership Council of the College of Engineering and Computing and will report to the Dean of the College. Responsibilities include budgeting, staffing, scheduling, supervising, and mentoring; enhancing the strong undergraduate program; growing its master’s level graduate program; broadening research efforts; overseeing curriculum, facilities, and accreditation processes, performing alumni outreach; helping to elaborate and implement a vision for the department and the department’s future directions; recruiting faculty and students; providing guidance and evaluation for promotion and tenure and departmental fiscal management; leading the faculty to achieve personal and departmental goals; working with staff, students, and other constituents; promoting diversity of faculty and students; teaching and performing research duties as appropriate. Appointment begins Fall 2023. Required: Earned doctorate in Mechanical Engineering, or closely related engineering or science discipline, and an established record of teaching, research (with high-quality publications), and service that qualify for appointment at the rank of Professor.
