TENURE TRACK/TENURED FACULTY POSITION - ACCOUNTING

The Cornell SC Johnson College of Business invites applicants for a full-time tenure track position in our Accounting area, with a start date of July 1, 2023. Rank is Assistant Professor, untenured Associate Professor, tenured Associate Professor, or tenured Full Professor. Candidates would be appointed at the rank that is appropriate given their experience and performance. The intended placement for this position is in the Dyson School of Applied Economics and Management. The position will be based in Ithaca, NY.

Candidates should possess a PhD (defended or ABD) in Accounting or a related field. Responsibilities of the position include research in your area(s) of accounting expertise. Ideal candidates will conduct archival empirical research related to financial reporting and analysis that takes advantage of the College’s existing strengths in that and related areas.

Teaching responsibilities include basic and advanced courses in accounting for BS and MPS students within the Dyson School as well as teaching across schools within the Cornell SC Johnson College of Business. Cross-school teaching can include courses for MBA, MSA, and PhD students in the Johnson Graduate School of Management and BS and MMH students in the Nolan School of Hotel Administration. Exact teaching assignments are determined by program needs and faculty members’ interests and expertise, and are designed for both efficiency and effectiveness. Other responsibilities include supervision of doctoral candidates and service to the Area, School, and College appropriate to the candidate’s rank. 

The Cornell SC Johnson College of Business (established on July 1, 2016) combines three Schools: the Samuel Curtis Johnson Graduate School of Management (Johnson), the Charles H. Dyson School of Applied Economics and Management (Dyson), and the Peter and Stephanie Nolan School of Hotel Administration (Nolan). Courses and programs are taught at Cornell’s main Ithaca campus, in New York City, and other locations across the globe.

Pay Ranges:

The hiring rate of pay for the successful candidate will be determined considering the following criteria:

  • Prior relevant work or industry experience.
  • Education level to the extent education is relevant to the position.
  • Academic Discipline (faculty pay ranges reflects 9-month annual salary)
  • Unique applicable skills.
