The Staff Assistant in the Electrical and Computer Engineering department will provide logistical and administrative support to the faculty, staff, and students. This position is currently hybrid 1-2 days a week. This may change in the future if Duke University changes the policy and Electrical & Computer Engineering must comply.

That includes but is not limited to:
Support for the department:
- Organizing events, seminars, and workshops for the department, assisting hosting faculty with their guests; providing support to other staff members to include processing reimbursements, and reconciliations of departmental procurements cards, serving as the front desk person to the department, greeting and directing visitors, reserving rooms, assisting faculty and staff with making copies, ordering supplies, answering phones, etc

Required Qualifications at this Level:
Education/Training:
Work requires a broad knowledge of clerical and accounting principles and practices normally acquired through two years of post-secondary education in secretarial science or a related business field.
Experience:
Work generally requires two years of related secretarial/clerical experience to acquire skills necessary to administer office functions related to office management, communications, and budgetary/accounting activities.
An experience in interacting with international customers or collaborators is a plus.
