Announcement of Faculty Position in Comparative Humanities 
School of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences 
 
Habib University invites applications for a position in its Comparative Humanities Program for the rank of Assistant/Associate Professor. The program seeks talented faculty who are passionate about teaching and student learning at the undergraduate level in line with global developments in the fields of Philosophy, Religious Studies, South Asian History, and Music. 

Habib University seeks outstanding student mentors who will be involved in the lives of students through mentoring, student support, enrolment initiatives, and other activities related to the undergraduate education experience. 

Fall appointments begin August 1st and Spring appointments begin January 1st. 

Qualifications: The candidates must have completed or must be in the final stages of a doctoral degree in the relevant field from a leading global institution recognized for its strength in this field. Applicants are required to have a background in Philosophy, Religious Studies, South Asian History, Music or a related field. Ideal candidate will possess excellent teaching and scholarly skills, will be able to work with a diverse population of students and colleagues, will enjoy influencing the intellectual growth of their students, will be effective in institutional service, will be passionate about undergraduate research, and is excited to work with colleagues across disciplines. Experience studying in and/or working in a liberal arts environment will be an advantage. 

Responsibilities: Primary responsibilities include: teaching undergraduate courses, active engagement in institutional service, professional activities, student mentorship, curriculum planning, and review. The annual teaching load is 5 three- or four-credit courses. This position will play a critical role in supporting both the comparative humanities majors and the liberal core of the University.
