The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) at the University of Michigan-Dearborn invites applications for a full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor position in intelligent systems. Consideration is primarily at the Assistant Professor level, but outstanding candidates at the Associate Professor level will also be considered. ECE department has 24 full-time faculty members and expects dynamic growth with strategic hiring over the next several years. ECE department offers a full range of degree programs from B.S. to Ph.D. in the areas of electrical engineering, computer engineering, and robotics engineering. Our faculty are active in sponsored research projects in a wide range of areas, including power/energy systems, autonomous vehicles, cyber security, robotics, intelligent systems, wireless networks, and vehicle electronics.

We seek qualified individuals with expertise in the areas of (i) artificial intelligence and machine learning, (ii) optimal control and optimization, and (iii) autonomous systems. Special considerations will be given to candidates whose research application areas are in power/energy systems, cyber-physical systems, or robotics engineering. The anticipated starting date is August 28, 2023.

Qualifications:

● An earned Ph.D. in electrical and computer engineering or a closely related field by Aug 28, 2023. ● A demonstrated potential for high-quality research. ● A commitment and demonstrated potential to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels and engage in curriculum development. ● A commitment to contribute to a diverse and inclusive academic culture.
