The TRIUMF Theory Department and the High Energy Physics/Cosmology group at Simon Fraser University (SFU) are seeking a joint Postdoctoral Research Fellow to join in the fall of 2023. TRIUMF theory research interests include particle phenomenology, particle cosmology, neutrino physics, fundamental symmetries, hadronic physics, nuclear theory, and nuclear astrophysics,. SFU High Energy Physics/Cosmology research interests include particle phenomenology, particle cosmology, and neutrino physics. The focus of the current search is particle theory (hep-ph).

Simon Fraser University (SFU) is a leading international research university. TRIUMF is Canada's particle accelerator centre, and one of the world's leading laboratories for particle and nuclear physics and accelerator-based science. Both are located in greater Vancouver, Canada. The joint postdoctoral research fellow would split their time between the two institutions.

Applicants must have a PhD in theoretical physics, awarded within the past 5 years, or scheduled to be completed prior to the position's start date. The successful candidate will show evidence of, or a strong potential for, the ability to carry out excellent research in an area that is relevant to the TRIUMF and SFU research programs.

The position carries a competitive benefits package and a salary commensurate with training and experience.

Equity, diversity, and inclusion are integral to excellence and enhance our ability to create knowledge and opportunity for all. Together, we are committed to building an inclusive culture that encourages, supports, and celebrates the voices of our employees, students, partners, and the people and communities we serve. Both TRIUMF and SFU are equal opportunity employers, and we welcome applications from all qualified candidates.

Qualified individuals with expertise in theoretical particle physics are invited to submit an application, including CV, a list of publications, a brief description of past research and future plans, and three letters of recommendation through the application portal at Academic Jobs Online (AJO).

To ensure full consideration, all application materials should be submitted exclusively through the AJO system by November 30, 2022. Applications will be considered on a rolling basis after that.

Please DO NOT submit duplicate applications to SFU or TRIUMF.

Candidates under consideration will be contacted directly.
