Candidates for this position must bring a strong background and commitment to teaching PMAP courses, including but not limited to governance, urban policy, public management, social entrepreneurship, GIS, policy analysis, and leadership. The successful candidate may have the responsibility of directing the Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies with a concentration in Social Entrepreneurship.

Candidates must have a doctoral degree in public policy, public administration, or a related field by August 2023. The position requires teaching experience, with demonstrated excellence in the classroom through evidence of student learning. Preferred candidates will connect their teaching to community partners and public service careers. This position will be expected to participate in college and university initiatives, such as the expansion of data analysis skills in the curriculum and college-to-career activities.

Located in downtown Atlanta, GSU is one of the country’s top urban public research universities and is a minority serving institution. The department offers a NASPAA-accredited MPA program, masters and undergraduate degrees in public policy, and a doctorate in public policy.
