The nuclear theory group at Iowa State University invites applications for a postdoctoral position starting in the fall of 2023. The start date is flexible. We especially invite applicants with research interests in quantum field theoretic aspects of strong interactions, formal aspects of lattice field theory, Quantum phase transitions, QCD phase diagram, interplay of strong interactions with topological phases and nuclear astrophysics. This is a two-year position with the possibility of a third-year contingent on funding and satisfactory performance.
The local group's research interests include QCD, lattice gauge theory, topological quantum phase transitions, quantum computing, effective field theory, relativistic heavy ion physics, nuclear astrophysics, physics of highly intense fields, nuclear structure theory. The Nuclear theory faculty include Srimoyee Sen, Kirill Tuchin and James Vary. The group also has close interactions with the condensed matter theory group and the experimental nuclear group at Iowa State. The group is part of the theory cluster initiative at Iowa State University.
Application deadline is 01/31/2023
