The Cinema & Media Studies program at Boston University seeks a Visiting Assistant Professor of Cinema & Media Studies for the 2023-2024 academic year. This is a one-year non-renewable position starting in July 2023. The ideal candidate will have a PhD in film studies, media studies or another related field at the time of appointment and an active research profile in any area of specialization. They will be prepared to teach undergraduate courses about non-cinematic media (for example, television, photography, the graphic novel, digital media, video games or visual art), genre cinema and/or non-narrative film and their own area of specialization. They will also be expected to conduct research and participate in a vibrant community of cinema and media studies scholars and practitioners drawn from across the College of Arts & Sciences. We are particularly interested in scholars with some film production experience and those who can incorporate aspects of the creative process in the classroom.
