Position Description

The Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s History Section seeks to appoint a full-time, tenure-track assistant professor in the field of Modern European History effective July 1, 2024. Candidates working on nineteenth- and twentieth-century European history, including post-colonial diasporas in Europe, preferably with a primary focus other than France or Russia, are invited to apply. A successful candidate must have received a Ph.D. or expect to do so by July 1, 2024.

Candidates who advance to the semi-finalist stage will be asked to submit three letters of recommendation and a substantial writing sample.
