The Institut de Physique Théorique invites applications for a permanent CEA researcher position in theoretical physics and statistical physics. Applications of candidates working in the following scientific area will be considered with the highest priority:
« Statistical Physics and its applications to biological systems »
Topics of interest include, but are not limited to, statistical physics approaches to neuroscience, genomics, immunology, evolution, ecology, cellular and bacterial growth; AI approaches to biological systems; physics of biomolecules.
This position is part of a wider project aimed at developing collaborations with other CEA Institutes of the Fundamental Research Division (DRF), in particular with the Frédéric Joliot Institute for Life Sciences (
https://joliot.cea.fr/) and its departments: Neurospin (
https://joliot.cea.fr/drf/joliot/pages/entites_de_recherche/neurospin.aspx) for neuroscience and the Institute for Integrative Biology of the Cell (I2BC
https://www.i2bc.paris-saclay.fr) for other aspects of biological systems.
The Institut de Physique Théorique (IPhT) is a Research Institute of CEA and CNRS, and is associated to the Université Paris-Saclay. IPhT is a multidisciplinary institute, with a strong expertise in a wide range of topics in mathematical physics, gravity, string theory, high-energy physics and particle physics, cosmology, statistical physics, condensed matter physics and quantum information. It is located in the south of Paris, in a rich scientific environment (Université Paris-Saclay, Ecole Polytechnique, Ecole Normale Supérieure de Paris-Saclay, Centrale-Supelec, Paris-Saclay Neuroscience Institute, IHES). More details can be found at
