The School of Engineering at the University of Valencia (ETSE), in collaboration with the Instituto de Física Corpuscular (IFIC), a mixed center of the University of Valencia (UV) and the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC), is thrilled to announce exceptional Ph.D. opportunities for candidates eager to pioneer research in Quantum Machine Learning (QML) and fundamental physics, with a strong focus on high-energy particle physics, astrophysics, and cosmology. This unique Ph.D. program leverages the strengths of both institutions, offering a multidisciplinary approach that bridges the gap between advanced quantum computing, machine learning, and deep inquiries into fundamental physics.

Research within this program will focus on: • Developing quantum algorithms to enhance machine learning applications. • Applying machine learning techniques to solve complex problems in high-energy particle physics, astrophysics, and cosmology.Candidates will have access to state-of-the-art GPU cluster facilities, enabling extensive computational experiments and simulations. The program includes funding for attending international schools and workshops, providing candidates with opportunities to grow their professional network and stay updated with the latest advancements in their field. We are looking for candidates who have completed a Master’s degree in Physics and demonstrate excellent problem-solving abilities. Knowledge and expertise in data science and machine learning will be valued. Our program is committed to advancing research at the frontier of science and technology and is keen to support highly motivated researchers prepared to explore the complexities of quantum and classical realms.
