The Department of Chemistry, Stony Brook University invites applications for a tenure-track position as Assistant/Associate Professor of Chemistry to start Fall 2014. Applicants should have a record of excellence in research and a commitment to teaching organic, inorganic, or physical chemistry at the undergraduate and graduate levels. We are especially interested in candidates with research interests focusing on emerging energy and environmental challenges. Cross-campus opportunities for collaborative research projects exist, Stony Brook has outstanding instrumentation in high field NMR spectroscopy, and the world-class National Synchrotron Light Source II soon will be operational at nearby Brookhaven National Laboratory. Candidates must have a Ph.D. from an accredited institution in chemistry, or a closely related field, and at least one year of postdoctoral experience.
