Classics and Letters/Institute for the American Constitutional Heritage, University of Oklahoma
The Institute for the American Constitutional Heritage in the Department of Classics and Letters at the University of Oklahoma invites applications for an authorized tenure-track position at the level of Assistant Professor to begin August 2014. The desirable candidate should specialize in American constitutional history/development, which we define broadly to include such areas as the study of American political culture, legal history, state development, and civic equality. Evidence of outstanding teaching and research potential is expected. Teaching responsibilities will include four courses per year in a humanities curriculum focused on American constitutionalism. Candidates with an interest in digital humanities projects are encouraged to apply. Ph.D. must be completed before first day of appointment.

The IACH is an interdisciplinary center for the study of the U.S. Constitution from various perspectives â€“ historical, legal, philosophical. The IACH is housed in the Department of Classics and Letters, with affiliated faculty from across the University. The Letters program has been an integral part of the Humanities at OU since 1937, attracting outstanding students with interests in history, philosophy, and literature.
