Tenure Track Assistant Professor Position
Department of Physics & Astronomy/New High Energy Theory Center
The Department of Physics and Astronomy and the New High Energy Theory Center of Rutgers University invite applications from candidates for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in theoretical high energy physics.
We seek outstanding candidates who have expertise in theoretical high energy physics, especially quantum field theory, string theory, supersymmetry, physical mathematics, the AdS/CFT correspondence and other aspects of the quantum theory of gravity, and particle phenomenology with particular emphasis on collider physics.
A Ph.D. degree in Physics or a closely related field is a minimal requirement. Significant postdoctoral research experience is strongly desired. The successful candidate will teach courses at undergraduate and graduate levels in the area of specialization as well as in general physics. Applicants should be committed to excellence in undergraduate and graduate education. This position is within the Department of Physics and Astronomy and the New High Energy Theory Center, subject to the availability of funds.
Current members of the New High Energy Theory Center are active in physical mathematics, phenomenology and LHC physics, fundamental aspects of quantum field theory, quantum gravity, and string theory.
Rutgers University is an Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity Employer. We strongly encourage women and members of minority communities to apply for this position.
