|Faculty Position in Innate Immunity

The Program in Innate Immunity (http://www.umassmed.edu/pii), located in the Division of Infectious Diseases and Immunology at the University of Massachusetts Medical School, invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position.
The Program/Division has a major focus on innate immunity, autoimmunity and host-microbe interactions, utilizing human, murine and invertebrate models (http://www.umassmed.edu/infdis/index.aspx). Successful candidates will conduct innovative research to understand host-pathogen interactions, mechanisms of infectious or inflammatory diseases and/or develop novel therapies for immune-mediated diseases. Candidates need not necessarily conduct research directly focused on Innate Immunity, but should indicate how their research will synergize with ongoing research within the Program/Division and the greater UMass Medical School community. Faculty engage in teaching, research and service, and successful candidates will be expected to direct an externally funded independent research program as well as participate in graduate education. Laboratory space and extensive core facilities are available in the Lazare Research Building. Candidates must have a Ph.D. and/or M.D. (or equivalents), and a record of significant research accomplishments. Highest priority will be given to investigators with outstanding research programs that complement our current strengths. Successful candidates will also demonstrate strong communication skills and an interest in collaborative research endeavors.
