The MIT Center for Transportation & Logistics (MIT CTL) conducts research and educational activities with a number of different companies, organizations, and governments. These include over 50 corporate sponsors of CTL’s Supply Chain Exchange as well as various hosting governments/organizations for our three international Global SCALE (Supply Chain and Logistics Excellence) Centers in Europe, Asia, and South America. MIT’s SCALE Network of research and education centers has multiple postdoctoral positions to support research activities in North America, Europe, Asia and Latin America in the area of transportation, logistics and supply chain management.

Postdoctoral Associates are responsible for assisting in the development and launching of online courses, conducting independent research, assisting and taking leadership in writing manuscripts, and meeting with project sponsors. Candidates are also expected to support educational activities and publish in top international journals.
A PhD in supply chain management, transportation, logistics, operations management, information systems, engineering, economics, business, or a related discipline. Must have in-depth knowledge of one of the following research areas:
Supply chain design, supply chain analytics, supply chain strategy, supply chain technologies, or freight transportation. Evidence of the ability to develop and deliver lectures and class material at the graduate level (both Masters and Doctoral). Prefer familiarity with statistical software and analytics tools to analyze big data sets. Preference will be given to those with both methodological and practical work experience. Experience with industry preferred.
