The Department of Modern Languages and Literatures invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Spanish and Hispanic Studies. Ph.D. is required at time of employment. Field of specialization is 20th and 21st Century Spanish Peninsular literature and culture; secondary interests in women’s and gender studies and/or trans-Atlantic studies are desirable. We seek applicants of broad scholarly promise who have a demonstrated commitment to research and publication and can contribute to intellectual life on campus. Candidates should be able to teach a wide range of language, literature, and culture courses to undergraduates. Teaching load is two courses per semester. Native or near-native proficiency in both English and Spanish is required. Lehigh University is a private, research-extensive institution in southeast Pennsylvania.
