Department of Chemistry at Stony Brook University seeks to hire a tenured
faculty member at the associate/full professor level to begin in 2018 as the
Joseph Lauher and Frank Fowler Endowed Chair of Materials Chemistry. Applicants
should have a record of excellence in materials chemistry research and a
commitment to teaching organic, inorganic, and/or materials chemistry at the
undergraduate and graduate levels. We are especially interested in candidates
with research interests that will provide solutions to emerging energy and
environmental challenges. Cross-campus opportunities
for collaborative research projects with researchers in Stony Brook Medicine,
Materials Science and Chemical Engineering, the Center for Clean Water
Technology, and the Center for Mesoscale Transport Properties exist. Stony
Brook University is located close to Brookhaven National Lab, which houses the
National Synchrotron Light Source II. Candidates
must have a Ph.D. from an accredited institution in chemistry or a closely
related field, and experience commensurate with rank.
