3-year postdoctoral positions at the STAR Institute
The Belgian science funding agency FNRS has a number of 3-year posts awarded to young researchers each year. To apply, one needs to be invited by a scientist based in Belgium.
The newly founded Space sciences, Technologies and Astrophysics Research (STAR) Institute, linked to the AGO department at the University of Liège, welcomes the opportunity to sponsor and host researchers interested in applying to one of these posts and to pursue research in one of the following domains:
The application will thus proceed in two stages:
By November 30th, the applicant should send a CV, including a full list of publications, a research plan (clearly indicating the domain of interest), as well as two letters of recommendation to academicjobsonline.
The Institute will then select a few candidates and match each one of them to a research team by December 20. They will then work on the application to FNRS, which must be encoded in the SEMAPHORE platform before the end of January. After submission, it will be validated by the sponsoring scientist and by the head of his/her university.
The final decision will be taken by FNRS at the end of June to start Oct. 1st 2017. Note that it is possible to delay or fragment the 3 years of the post within a 6-year period.
The candidate must have a doctorate and must have obtained it after February 10, 2012 and before May 1, 2017. A grant of 5000 euros/year will be given to the successful candidate for expenses linked to research.
