The Ohio State University College of Public Health is seeking an innovative leader and scholar to chair its Division of Health Behavior and Health Promotion. The successful candidate will develop a vision for the Division to become a premier center for public health behavioral science. The successful candidate will also strengthen the behavioral science mission within the College of Public Health and other health sciences colleges at Ohio State.

The candidate will lead an active behavioral science research program, support and develop interdisciplinary public health research within the College and University, and foster the expansion of the Division faculty’s research portfolio. The ideal candidate would be able to contribute to the College’s existing research programs in tobacco, cancer, addiction, infectious diseases and sexual health, or reproductive health including infant mortality, although strong candidates with experience outside these areas are encouraged to apply. The candidate will recruit new faculty and provide mentorship to all faculty within the Division. The candidate will oversee the MPH and PhD training program in health behavior and health promotion, provide support for the undergraduate major in the College, manage the Division’s resources, and teach at the undergraduate and/or graduate level.

Candidates should have a PhD, or comparable doctoral degree, relevant to health behavior and health promotion in public health; a strong record of competitively funded research, mentorship, and teaching; and administrative experience. The candidate’s academic credentials should be consistent with an appointment as professor with tenure in the College of Public Health.
