|We invite candidates with a recent PhD in astronomy/astrophysics, to apply for a postdoctoral position in theoretical astrophysics with Prof. Romain Teyssier at the Centre for Theoretical Astrophysics and Cosmology, Institute for Computational Science (ICS), University of Zurich.
Experience in high performance computing and galaxy formation physics is preferred. The successful candidate will collaborate on projects aiming at modelling galaxy formation within a cosmological context. As strong emphasis will be put on star cluster formation and the associated stellar feedback. The candidate will be also encouraged to pursue his/her independent research projects.
This position will start on the 1st September 2017, and is initially for two years, with a possibility of further extensions. Postdoctoral salaries are in the range 85,000-90,000 CHF. Scientific computing infrastructure is very strong at the ICS and includes access to the supercomputers of the Swiss supercomputing centre in Lugano.
