Postdoctoral Positions at QMAP
The newly established Center for Quantum Mathematics and Physics (QMAP) at UC Davis seeks exceptional candidates for postdoctoral positions. QMAP bridges the physics and mathematics departments. It is devoted to the study of fundamental physics, broadly in the areas of quantum field theory, string theory, and gravity, as well the study of mathematical structures that govern these areas.
We in particular would like to solicit applications from candidates interested in holographic entanglement, scattering amplitudes, effective field theories, integrability, supersymmetric field theory and dualities. We also encourage candidates working in geometry, topology, and other areas of mathematics with interest in developing the mathematical understanding of fields/strings/gravity to apply for these positions. The members of QMAP interested in these topics are Tudor Dimofte, Sergei Dubovsky, Veronika Hubeny, Mukund Rangamani, and Jaroslav Trnka.
Postdoctoral positions would begin in Fall 2017 and last two years, with the possibility of renewal for a third year given satisfactory performance. Postdocs will direct the course of their own research. There are no formal teaching responsibilities, though instruction in mathematics can be arranged if desired.
Applicants should send their CV, publication list, statement of research interests, and at least three letters of recommendation to Academic Jobs Online.
Attention: We expect one more position to be available, so the deadline has been extended. For full consideration, please apply by February 28, 2017.
