The Johns Hopkins University’s Department of Environmental Health and Engineering (EH&E) seeks applicants for tenure-track faculty positions at all levels and across multiple areas of Environmental Engineering. Particular emphasis is at the mid-career to senior level and in areas of Environmental Fluid Mechanics, Atmospheric Sciences, Environmental Transport Mechanisms, Estuarial and/or Coastal Processes, and Hydrodynamic aspects of Environmental Process and Systems Design, although all well-qualified applicants in any areas of Environmental Engineering will be considered. Individuals who integrate the above areas with health or policy using theoretical, computational or applied approaches are especially encouraged to apply.
The newly created cross-divisional Department of Environmental Health and Engineering has 82 full-time tenured and tenure-track faculty members. The Whiting School of Engineering comprises over 200 full time tenure-track, research, and teaching-track faculty in nine academic programs with a total annual research budget of over $100 million. The Bloomberg School of Public Health is the number 1 ranked public health school in the country with over 670 full time tenure-track faculty in 10 academic departments with an annual budget of over $500 million.
Research partnerships with the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, Applied Physics Laboratory, and the Krieger School of Arts and Sciences make the Whiting School of Engineering a unique research and educational environment. Student enrollment exceeds 1800 at the undergraduate level with over 1000 full time MS and PhD students. The Engineering for Professionals program enrolls over 2000 part time continuing education students and is the largest program of its kind in the country.
