| TWO YEAR VISITING ASSISTANT PROFESSOR – ECOLOGY/CONSERVATION BIOLOGY
The Department of Biology at Swarthmore College invites applications for a full-time, 2-year visiting faculty position at the assistant professor level, beginning September 2017. Teaching responsibilities for the first year include an intermediate-level course in Ecology, Applied Ecology, Conservation or a related field, with weekly laboratories or field work, and participation in the department’s team-taught introductory course in organismal and population biology. In the second year, teaching responsibilities are one intermediate level course with weekly laboratories or field work each semester. One of these courses could be identical to the course taught in the first year. Funds are available for travel to professional meetings and for summer support of undergraduate research collaborators. In addition to lab and greenhouse space on campus, the 200+ acre Crum Woods adjacent to campus can be used for teaching and research if desired.
Applicants should have a Ph.D., teaching experience, and a strong commitment to teaching undergraduates from diverse backgrounds.
