|The Theoretical Materials Physics Group of Turan Birol at the University of Minnesota invites applications for a postdoc position on the study of correlated metals as transparent conductors using first principles methods, as part of a DMREF collaboration. Starting date is negotiable.
The research of the group focuses on the computational design of materials that host exotic phenomena such as topological insulators, multiferroics, spin-orbit coupled Mott insulators, or high temperature superconductors. This particular position is part of a collaboration, and the postdoc will have strong interactions with experimentalists.
Highly motivated candidates with a degree from physics, chemistry, materials science or related fields are encouraged to apply. Prior experience with first principles calculations at the level of DFT is necessary, and familiarity with many body methods such as Dynamical Mean Field Theory is strongly preferable.
