The Department of Political Science at Vanderbilt University invites applications from outstanding political scientists with a specialization in Political Theory for an appointment as a Visiting Assistant Professor. We are particularly interested in candidates able to offer courses in the history of political thought. The ability to offer our introductory course on Justice is a plus. Visiting Assistant Professors will be invited to teach at least one course in their area of expertise, to share work in progress in our Social and Political Thought Workshop, and to participate in the intellectual life of the department more generally. The appointment will begin Fall 2017. Salary and benefits are highly competitive. The Department will begin reviewing files as early as March 1, 2017. The Department will accept applications until the position is filled. Among the qualifications required for hire is the Ph.D. in hand or expected by Fall 2017.
