Position Description: Benedictine University Department of Nursing and Health invites applications for a full-time, 9 month, tenure-track faculty appointment as Assistant Professor. Position involves teaching responsibilities in the hybrid RN to BSN and online MSN programs. Appointment date is August 2017.

Responsibilities:

·        Teach courses in a hybrid RN to BSN and/or on-line MSN program

  • Collaborate with designated faculty teaching RN to BSN community and leadership courses in coordinating/facilitating clinical learning experiences
  • Serve as a course coordinator for selected course(s) in RN to BSN and/or MSN program
  • Participate in, and assume selected leadership roles in components of curriculum development, implementation, and revision
  • Participate in the systematic program evaluation of the Department of Nursing and Health programs
  • Participate in scholarly, professional, and community activities
  • Participate in academic activities at Department, College, and University levels

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Earned doctorate (in Nursing or related field) from an accredited institution
  • Master’s degree in nursing
  • Current, unencumbered Illinois registered nurse (RN) license
  • Five years of clinical nursing experience

·        Experience with teaching in hybrid and online delivery models at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels

·        Experience with teaching physical assessment, pathophysiology, and pharmacology at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels

  • Ability to interact successfully within a multicultural environment and to work harmoniously with colleagues, students and the community

·        Evidence of scholarly/research accomplishments

 

Preferred Qualifications:

·       Certification as a nurse executive and/or nurse educator

·       Certification in an area of clinical practice and/or licensure as an advance practice nurse
