Assistant Professor, Term Appointment, 2017 Fall Semester

 

Position Description: Benedictine University School of Education (SOE) invites applications for a full-time, 9 month, non-renewable, term appointment as Assistant Professor. Appointment date is August 2017.

 

Responsibilities:

·       Administrative functions directly related to the management of activities that support the teaching and missions of the University, College, and SOE.

  • Serve as interim licensure officer.

·       Teaching and service as outlined in the University Faculty Handbook.

  • Serve as academic advisor for program majors.

·       Facilitate curriculum development, implementation, and progression of SOE programs.

  • Participate in the systematic assessment of SOE programs.
  • Participate in professional and community activities.
  • Participate in academic activities at Department, College and University level.

Minimum Qualifications: 

·       Earned Doctorate degree in education from an accredited institution

  • Ability to interact successfully within a multicultural environment and to work harmoniously with colleagues, students  and the community

 

Preferred qualifications

·       Professional Educator License (PEL) in Elementary, K-12, and/or Secondary Education
