Part-Time Immunology Instructor, Fall 2017

General Information:
Chapman University’s Schmid College of Science and Technology seeks applications for a part-time Immunology instructor who has the ability to teach undergraduate students, beginning August 2017. Immunology is a lecture course taken by students in the fields of biology, biochemistry, and health science.

Responsibilities:
Instructors will teach one lecture section throughout the semester.  The course meets Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 8:00-9:00 AM.  Responsibilities each week include preparing lectures, administering quizzes and exams, holding office hours, and grading all assignments submitted by the students. The instructor must be available to attend a half day orientation at the beginning of the semester.

Qualifications:

  • A Ph.D. or M.S. degree in biology is required.
  • University or community college teaching experience, preferably with a course in immunology.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, orally and in writing.
  • Strong commitment to student learning, quality teaching and academic excellence.
  • Ability to motivate and teach students of diverse learning styles and backgrounds.
  • Appreciation and respect for student role, contribution, and responsibility in the learning process.
  • Commitment to personalized education
