The Welsher lab ( at Duke University is seeking talented and motivated postdoctoral researchers to join our effort to map the viral infection process from the perspective of a single virion using high speed real-time 3D microscopy techniques (see Welsher et al, Nat. Nano. 9, 198-203 (2014) and Hou et al, Opt. Lett. 12, 2390-2393 (2017)). The ideal candidate will have expertise in optical microscopy and spectroscopy and/or molecular and cell biology. Candidates with experience in both fields are especially encouraged to apply.

A PhD in Chemistry, Physics, Engineering, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology or related field is required. For those with an optics background, experience in super-resolution microscopy and time-resolved spectroscopy is plus. For those with a biology background, experience manipulating plasmids and recombinant protein expression is a plus.
