The Department of Sociology at Boston University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor to begin July 1, 2018, pending budgetary approval. We seek a colleague with research and teaching interests in race and ethnicity. Subfields are open but we are especially interested in those who can contribute to existing departmental strengths that include migration; gender; economic sociology; global/comparative; health; and/or urban sociology. The successful candidate will contribute to undergraduate and graduate teaching on the sociology of race and ethnicity, as well as to building bridges with other relevant units across the university, such as the African American Studies Program, the Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Program, the Initiative on Cities, and others. Advanced tenure-track Assistant Professors will be considered.
