Resource Analytics Librarian The Ford Library Fuqua School of Business

Overview The Resource Analytics Librarian gathers and synthesizes information to inform decision-making related to library resources, programs and projects. The Resource Analytics Librarian communicates with and collects information from database vendors, library users and staff to guide purchases and subscription renewals at terms favorable to the library.

The Resource Analytics Librarian provides budgetary management for the Ford Library. Additionally, this position works as a member of a team that provides reference services to faculty members, staff members and students at the reference desk for a portion of each day. The Resource Analytics Librarian reports to the Associate Dean for Library Services.

Specific Responsibilities Direct the library’s planning and evaluation efforts – Organize and report information for library planning and assessment. (30%) Serve as the budget manager for the Ford Library – Create and manage the Ford Library’s $1.3 million budget. (30%) Facilitate database acquisitions and management – Work with the Associate Director for IT and Technical Services in the acquisition and management of database resources for the library. (25%) Provide public services to Library users – Serve as a member of the Ford Library’s reference team. (15%)

Education and Experience ALA accredited MLS strongly preferred with a minimum of 3 years of professional experience working in a library. Experience with budget planning, database licensing, and/or program evaluation/assessment is required. Experience with library acquisitions and vendor management is preferred.

The ability to adapt to new technologies is required. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite is required. Experience with SAP, ILS software and survey/assessment tools is preferred. The successful candidate will be a person with a high level of maturity, confidence and organizational ability. The ability to handle multiple priorities in an independent manner is required. Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills are also required.
