*** The account for Women's and Gender Studies Program, Dartmouth College has expired. ***

The Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies Program at Dartmouth College invites applications for a new full-time Assistant Professor (tenure-track) position in transnational feminism, to begin as early as July 1, 2018. The specific area of specialization within the field of transnational feminism is open, but preference will be given to candidates whose transnational work and perspective concentrate on the Asias in the comparative sense. We furthermore understand "transnational” not only in a geographic way, but also in terms of flows and intersections across established boundaries and bodies of knowledge.

The successful applicant will be a scholar with strong theoretical expertise and interdisciplinary training and will show extraordinary promise in both the areas of scholarly publications and teaching excellence. Qualifications include a Ph.D., although candidates who are ABD and in their final year of a Ph.D. program will also be considered. Applicants should be prepared to teach introductory-level and survey courses in the core Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies curriculum as well as courses in the field of transnational feminism, including courses that help support the Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies Foreign Study Program in Hyderabad, India. Normal department service is required.

Dartmouth College is an outstanding research institution of 4300 undergraduates. The Program in Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies at Dartmouth College, historically the first of its kind among the formerly all-male institutions in the Ivy League, is highly interdisciplinary and teaches approximately 600 students per year. Dartmouth College has an even distribution of male and female students; approximately one-third of the undergraduate students are members of minority groups. We are especially interested in applicants with a record of successful teaching and mentoring of students from all backgrounds (including first-generation college students, low-income students, racial and ethnic minorities, women, LGBTQ, etc.). Dartmouth College provides very generous research support for faculty, a flexible teaching calendar (4 courses per year distributed on the quarter system), and numerous college-wide forums for interdisciplinary conversations.

Dartmouth College is an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer with a strong commitment to diversity and inclusion. We prohibit discrimination on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, age, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, disability, veteran status, marital status, or any other legally protected status. Applications by members of all underrepresented groups are strongly encouraged; all applicants are also encouraged to state in their cover letter how they will enhance the diversity of offerings and educational experiences in the WGSS program and how they might contribute to Dartmouth’s undergraduate diversity initiatives in research, such as the Mellon Mays Undergraduate Fellowship.

Candidates should submit via Interfolio a cover letter, CV, writing sample, research statement, teaching portfolio, and three confidential letters of recommendation. Review of applications will begin December 15, 2017, and continue until the position is filled. Apply online at: https://apply.interfolio.com/44978
