SCCP at SJTU (http://sccp.physics.sjtu.edu.cn) with Prof. Tony Leggett of University of Illinois, a part-time faculty member of SJTU, as its director, announces two faculty (tenured or tenure-track) openings in theoretical and experimental condensed matter physics.  Candidates with expertise in two dimensional quantum materials, quantum information and strongly correlated systems, including holographic dualities are specially encouraged to apply though other profiles within the remit of condensed matter physics physics will be fully considered.  The rank, salary, start-up, and housing supplement will be commensurate with experience and competitive with those offered by other leading universities in mainland China. Candidates of all nationalities are welcome to apply. Those appointed who do not speak Chinese will be able to carry out their teaching and other official duties in English. Several non-Chinese faculty members are currently working at SJTU School of Physics and Astronomy.

Tenured Associate and Full Professor Positions
A successful candidate should hold a Ph.D. degree and have held a faculty or equivalent position at a rank of tenure-track (or equivalent) or higher with a demonstrated track record of excellence in research, leadership and mentoring. Salary, start-up funds, housing allowance, and other provided benefits are competitive with those offered by other leading universities in mainland China.

Tenure-Track Assistant Professor Positions
A successful candidate should have a Ph.D. degree, postdoctoral experience, and demonstrated ability of performing independent research. Salary, start-up funds, housing allowance, and other provided benefits are competitive with those of other leading universities in mainland China. The tenure track typically lasts for 6 years with the tenure home at SJTU School of Physics and Astronomy. The tenure evaluation begins at the beginning of the 6th year of employment with a process and performance expectation similar to those in a US university.

Application and deadline
For full consideration completed applications must be received before May 1, 2018. Further information For informal inquiries or any further information about tenured or tenured track positions, please contact Prof. Ying Liu at yingl@sjtu.edu.cn. About SCCP Shanghai Center for Complex Physics (SCCP) in the School of Physics and Astronomy at Shanghai Jiao Tong University (http://sccp.physics.sjtu.edu.cn) conducts experimental and theoretical research at the interface between traditional condensed matter physics and the newer field of quantum information, including topological quantum computing, unconventional and high-transition temperature superconductors, topological quantum materials and strongly correlated many-electron systems. Professor Tony Leggett, 2003 Nobel Prize laureate, is its founding and current director. Professor Ying Liu is its executive director. The working language of the Center is English.
